Barry The Canary: The Bird Rocking a Bowl Cut Feather

Birds captivate us with their charming colors and vibrant personalities. But have you ever encountered a bird celebrated for its unique hairstyle? Meet Barry, the adorable Gloster canary sporting a one-of-a-kind hairdo reminiscent of a stylish bowl cut, earning him the endearing title of “the bird with the fringe.”

Originating from the Canary Islands, Gloster Canaries have become rare in the wild, owing to years of selective breeding. These delightful avians boast a lifespan of 7-12 years and are renowned for their melodious singing. Bird enthusiasts worldwide are smitten not only by their cute hairstyles but also by their musical talents.

Barry’s journey began when his owners visited a pet shop on July 26, 2019, in search of the perfect avian companion. Returning the next day with Barry, they knew instantly that he was “the one.” While Barry’s age is estimated at one and a half years, there’s no concrete evidence to support this claim. Gloster canaries come in two varieties: the consort and the corona, distinguished by their fringe. Barry, with his distinctive hairstyle, unmistakably belongs to the corona category.

Despite his unique appearance, Barry leads a typical bird’s life, relishing outings in his bird carrier. His owners delight in taking him for strolls through parks and fields, where he chirps and hops with infectious joy. Barry’s fondness for perching on the windowsill and serenading adds to his irresistible charm.

He has his own Instagram account where he has so many followers and a bio that says “I’m Barry, the bird with a fringe” as he has a fringe these days. His owners upload his cute pictures there so that the followers can enjoy them as well. One look at this beautiful birdie and your hearts will melt for sure.
