“Who says fathers have an easy time during labor? Recent viral photos from a couple welcoming their third child shed light on the fact that dads are genuinely concerned and often astonished by the childbirth process.
In the past, fathers were not allowed in the delivery room, leaving them waiting outside, hoping for a positive outcome for both mother and child. Nowadays, it’s the norm for dads to witness the entire childbirth process, leading to sometimes humorous results, as seen in the case of Amanda Renee and her partner Brett Sillis.
The couple stole the hearts of many with their delivery room photos, not just because they became parents for the third time, but due to Brett’s comical facial expressions.
Many agree that Brett’s emotions are priceless, and though it may seem like he’s disgusted by the birthing process, Amanda, his wife, says she isn’t offended. During the intense experience of welcoming their baby into the world, she didn’t even notice her husband’s feelings. It was only when they reviewed the photos afterward that they realized the comedic value of Brett’s expressions.
“We didn’t even look at them until I got back into the room, and I was like ‘I have to post these,’” Amanda said.
The delighted couple and their baby daughter are now back home, enjoying quality time together and having a good laugh at Brett’s expressions in the delivery room photos.
The photos resonated with many, especially men who could relate to Brett, garnering over 6,000 shares.
“Dawg, this was me,” one dad wrote.
“And this is exactly why when my husband wanted to ‘watch,’ I clamped my knees together and told him if he didn’t get up by my head, I wasn’t going to push!” one mother added.
“Lol! I feel all men make these faces. I just had our baby 6 weeks ago, and my husband could only look at my face. My delivery was 15 minutes long, and my doula had to tap him to look at the baby because he knew he’d pass out from all the ‘stuff’ coming out. Congrats mama!!” a third person shared.
Congratulations to the happy couple on the newest addition to their family.
