At the tender age of three, Zoey’s vibrant existence took an abrupt turn with the onset of cancer. Until then, she embodied the typical vigor and enthusiasm of children her age, nurtured in a warm and affectionate environment.
During a routine play session, Zoey suddenly lost control of her hands after stumbling. Alarmed by this unexpected development, her family swiftly sought medical intervention, only to be met with shattering news that would reshape their world forever.
The diagnosis was DIPG, an uncommon and aggressive form of brain tumor, targeting their beloved daughter who had once been so full of life and love. For Casey, Zoey’s mother, the revelation was a devastating blow, akin to a nightmarish ordeal that no one should ever have to face.
Yet, amidst the turmoil, they found strength to navigate the arduous journey ahead, mustering resilience for Zoey’s sake as she underwent rigorous cancer treatments over the following years.
Finding solace in a radiation therapy facility in Germany initially brought hope, but Zoey’s condition eventually deteriorated, leading to unthinkable pain and sorrow.
On July 4, 2018, Zoey peacefully departed from this world, surrounded by her loving family. Despite the impending loss, they cherished their final moments together, gathering loved ones to bid farewell to their precious daughter.
In a courageous act, Casey chose to share their poignant farewell on social media, capturing a bittersweet moment of togetherness, enveloped in Disney songs and the warmth of family love, even as Zoey slipped away.
Through their Facebook page, “Zoey’s Light,” the family seeks to honor her memory by spreading hope and love, inspired by Zoey’s enduring spirit and the joy she brought into the world.
In a heartfelt tribute, they acknowledge Casey and Ben as exemplary parents, navigating an unimaginable journey with unwavering love and strength, while offering prayers for Zoey’s eternal peace.
