It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we share the passing of this much-loved actor who graced our screens for decades

The soap opera world is mourning the loss of actor Robert Kelker-Kelly, who has died at the age of 62.

Kelker-Kelly was best known for playing Bo Brady on Days of Our Lives, a role he took over in 1992 and made his own. He later appeared on General Hospital as the memorable villain Stavros Cassadine.

According to reports, police and emergency responders were called to his Missouri home after he experienced chest pain. He was found unconscious and not breathing, and attempts were made to save his life. His official cause of death has not yet been publicly released.

Born in Wichita, Kansas, in 1964, Kelker-Kelly began his television career in 1987 on Another World. Over the years, he appeared in more than 400 episodes across various television productions.

His time on Days of Our Lives brought him widespread recognition. He portrayed Bo Brady opposite Kristian Alfonso and Lisa Rinna, and his performance earned him an Outstanding Lead Actor award at the Soap Opera Digest Awards in 1994. The following year, he and Rinna were honored as Hottest Soap Couple.

Kelker-Kelly later joined General Hospital, taking on the role of Stavros Cassadine. He returned to the show in 2013, with his final onscreen appearance coming the following year.

Away from acting, Kelker-Kelly had a passion for aviation and worked as a professional pilot. He also appeared in several other television series, including Touched by an Angel, Jack’s Place, Maybe This Time, and Rescue 77.

For generations of soap opera viewers, Robert Kelker-Kelly will be remembered for the characters he brought to life and the lasting mark he left on daytime television.
